We are looking for a motivated Junior Field Technician to join our expanding team!
This is an entry level position within our company. Mentorship and training will be provided with the opportunity to advance to a piece-rate, Field Technician position (either as a Fibre Cable Placer, Fibre Splicer, or Coax Technician)

Job Duties:
- Read and interpret maps (telecom design prints, google maps, google earth)
- Locate and proof underground telecom conduits
- Pump manholes
- Pre-field jobs to assess readiness
- Assist Cable Placers in the field which may include flaking cable, pulling cable and mule tape, rod and roping, tagging and foaming, ladder work, loading and offloading cable reel, and driving heavy machinery to work site
- Assist Fibre Splicers in the field which may include locating and setting up fibre splice locations and power meter operation
- Assist with shipping and receiving telecom equipment and supplies
- Operate forklift to assist with loading and offloading cable reels
- Assist mechanic with basic vehicle repairs and preventative maintenance
- Organize and clean the shop/yard
- Perform other duties as requested

Aside from having attributes that are in line with our core values, one other essential “must-have” is your ability to travel. WP Telectronics has projects all over Canada. We need road warriors who can go where the projects are. A typical shift rotation is 21 days on, 10 days off
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid Class 5 License
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Experience operating heavy machinery
- Forklift experience is an asset
- Current Confined Space Entry, First Aid, and/or Fall Protection Certification is an asset
